The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) National Hospital Ambulatory Medical Care Survey (NHAMCS) released it's survey results for ED visits in 2007 in August 2010. ED visits have been increasing since 2005, but took a dip in 2007 to 116.8 million. Compared to 2006, which experienced 119.2 million visits, that was a drop of two percent.

The Abaris Group worked closely with Marin County to help them assess their healthcare safety net. The study analyzed the healthcare safety net services in Marin and includes an assessment and projection of current and future heatlhcare utilization. The goal of the study was to provide recommendations to the county to help ensure that the necessary safety net services will continue to be available.
