The Abaris Group consulted with Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital over a five year period concluding in its successful Level II trauma center designation. This was a competitive process hotly contested by another bidding hospital. The designation procedure followed a strict set of guidelines prepared by the Sonoma County EMS Agency. Mike Williams and his staff conducted all the initial analysis and workplace design to assure the hospitals efforts would achieve the development of a high quality trauma program and their ultimate designation as a trauma center. The Abaris Group also prepared the hospitals trauma proposal that was rated by one independent surveyor as "one of the best he has ever read". Prior to the proposal submission, the hospital under went an American College of Surgeons Level II verification and was successful.

The Abaris Group recently completed four studies for the California HealthCare Foundation (CHCF). They ranged in topics from telepsychiatry in the ED to freestanding EDs in California to reducing ambulance diversion in California to ED patient tracking systems. With support from CHCF, The Abaris Group conducted the California ED Diversion Project, which analyzed ED and emergency medical services (EMS) diversion in all 31 local EMS regions; inventoried best practices; and had a sample number of EDs and local EMS agencies participate in a collaborative to reduce diversion in their region.
