The Abaris Group conducted a comprehensive and multidisciplinary review of the emergency center for this specialized pediatric emergency and ambulatory center in downtown Dallas. The review included substantial review of data on throughput and outcome, significant interviews of key stakeholders and customers and extensive observation sessions during peak- and slow-load periods of the day and weekends. The project also involved review of current product lines (e.g. observation unit, trauma program) and the planning, design and implementation of a fast track program. The Abaris Group and its architectural partner were also responsible for the needs analysis, design and plans for a new state-of-the-art Emergency Center now being built for Children's Hospital Dallas.

The Abaris Group's Studies for the California HealthCare Foundation
The Abaris Group recently completed four studies for the California HealthCare Foundation (CHCF). They ranged in topics from telepsychiatry in the ED to freestanding EDs in California to reducing ambulance diversion in California to ED patient tracking systems. California ED Diversion Project
With support from CHCF, The Abaris Group conducted the California ED Diversion Project, which analyzed ED and emergency medical services (EMS) diversion in all 31 local EMS regions; inventoried best practices; and had a sample number of EDs and local EMS agencies participate in a collaborative to reduce diversion in their region.
